On the second Sunday of each month, the young Friends prepare 60 bag lunches for the clients of the Embry Rucker Community Shelter in Reston, a project of Cornerstones. The bag lunches include two sandwiches, a juice drink, bottled water, a piece of fruit or fruit cup, and a granola bar.
Herndon Friends Meeting is one of the sponsoring organizations of Cornerstones, with a representative serving on their Board of Directors.
